Why is this check mandatory for your business? Many warehouse managers only assess risk after an incident has occurred. We help you avoid this by ensuring three critical aspects:
- Legal compliance: According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, expert inspection of racking is mandatory at least every 12 months. This is your main shield against the National Labour Inspectorate (NLI).
- Insurance guarantees: In the event of a collapse or damage to goods, insurance companies first require proof that the equipment was in working order. The inspection certificate we issue is the official legal document for claiming benefits.
- Cost savings: A defect (e.g. a bent beam or a damaged leg) that is detected in time requires minimal repair costs. Ignoring the problem risks a „domino effect“, the collapse of the entire structure and a permanent shutdown of operations.
How do we work? Highest levels of scrutiny Standards We don't evaluate „by eye“. As authorised experts, we apply a strict methodology:
- Full inventory: We identify racking types and manufacturers and check that design loads are not exceeded.
- Physical audits: We use laser instruments and gauges to check the uprightness of the risers, the deflection of the beams, the presence of fixings, the condition of the supports and the evenness of the floor.
- Certified report: We provide a detailed inspection report with photographs of each damage, engineering conclusions and specific recommendations for repair.
Standard LST EN 15635: 3 risk zones All defects are assessed according to a strict European standard that clearly specifies the necessary actions to be taken when using the „traffic light“ principle:
- 🟢 GREEN ZONE (Monitoring): Minor irregularities, within tolerance limits. The racks can be used but need to be monitored until the next audit.
- 🟡 YELLOW ZONE (Danger): The damage requires rapid repair. The rack cannot be loaded with new goods, but existing goods can be left until the repair work starts (maximum 4 weeks).
- 🔴 RED ZONE (Critical): Operation of the rack is prohibited. All goods must be removed immediately and the area must be isolated until the damaged items are fully replaced.
